From the angle it looks like the passenger mirror would be rendered completely useless, unless someone in the passenger seat needed it for something. Reading about your remarkable unicorn hunts, maybe you can see through the A-pillar and the repositioning works just fine.

Why not just get a second set of mirrors and put them on with the brackets when you take the doors off.

Then at least you would be able to see it while daily driving your rig.

Or just move them back and forth, I mean how often do you take the doors completely off?

If you owned a midget he could sit in the passenger seat and look in the mirror for you. :hi:

Do you need (by law) a PS mirror? For some reason I thought only the DS and center rear mirrors were mandatory... but I could be wrong...

You have to have at least 2 mirrors, and one has to be on the drivers side. Either driver and rear view or driver and passenger.

I have something like this on the LJ for when the doors are off
http://www.quadratec.com/products/13011 ... fgodnkEAHg

I keep the factory mirrors on the doors so they are functional...also a cheap mirror so I don't have to worry about the cost if I pull a galford on the trail

I was going to refer you to the 13th amendment, but then I realized midgets aren't real people

This is also what I thought. I remember some early to mid 80's Hondas coming sans PS mirror.

The law says you have to have two rear facing mirrors. Either two side mirrors, or a driver side mirror and rearview mirror. Technically I don't need the passenger side mirror.

I decided to replace my windshield rest with a low-pro VHF antenna. Just because.

Cut some of the insulation away.

I used a step-bit to bore the hole out.

I may replace the driver side one as well... just so they match.

I hope that lack of symmetry doesn't eat at you. I think it looks good, though.

Do those have limited range compared to a normal antenna?

Yeah, about as much as a handheld so they're good for snow runs where we're all pretty much on the same trail. They just look cool and don't drag along the ceiling of parking garages.

This is when I know the ceiling is low. My VHF antenna sticks up about 3" above my hardtop, I get real nervous when I start to hear it ting off the sprinkler pipes and such... :eek2:

Hmm, I was hoping to run one of these as opposed to a standard whip. Might be rethinking that...
