Took a weekend day and brought my daughter to the beach. It was nice, most of my days off are in the shop trying to race time for fall wheeling. I'm losing.

Finished up the front part of the cage. Just need a hoop over Maggie and I'm done.

LED headlamps. Thin enough I can order a wider radiator. Going with a custom 26x16 dual pass CBR with dual SPAL fans.

What brand is that? Is it a dedicated headlamp or a projector fog you're using as a headlamp? Unique look...

Just some 6 inch Chinese LED offroad/work lights. They're about as bright as nice 4 LED pods are. Nothing else is thin enough.

Hunting season got the best of October. Got back from elk camp yesterday and got back on the Jeep today.

Fuel is plumbed and exhaust is done.

Here's the pics of the A and B tie-ins.

I had also gotten a length of formed rocker guard from my friends at Warn. Used it to lengthen mine old beat ones. I'll have some fancy Savvy ones sometime...

Cage is coming along. I might wait to do the seat mounts and door bars until after KOH when I get new seats. WInton has new Twisted Stitch seats in the 4500 Comanche. Super comfy seats.

Got a solid 1.25 heat treated 4340 chromoly tie rod made by a good friend. Slotted for the use of 1.25 tie rod clamps. It's my favorite part of the whole build. :)

Out of curiosity, are you going to repaint it or keep that blue?

:roflmao: I don't see any blue anywhere.

But to answer your question, I don't know. I'll probably just primer the rear end for KOH. I may color match the rear end green, but I'd like to change the whole thing to a brighter green.

I'm colorblind, is Paul's rig not blue? Ok...

Are you repainting your rig or color matching to your current color?

I've never painted before. I'd like to learn, but if I tried it the Jeep would probably look like a 5 y/o's preschool project.

I like Napa Crossfire paint. I used it on my doors, front, and rear fenders. It is a single stage system and easy to use.

It will. I still need the belt line bar and a front vertical bar.

Nice work! Are you going to race at KOH or attend as a spectator?

Thanks! I'll be helping in the pits again and wheeling around this year (For POR and Ashman) I had hoped to be ready for 4500 for 2016, but we're buying some property next year so it'll probably be held off for a year or two.

And here's what I'm doing for the door bar. This allows me to use the stock dash for awhile. If I ever make a dash, the door bars will be redone.

I'm assuming U4 rule book won't let you put flanges or tube clamps in there to make them removable?

No, main structure has to be welded in. I have flanges to my front hood bars, but they are out front of the A pillar.

Here's the final cage before the KOH trip in Feb. I'll do the rest when I get back.

What style of hold down are you going to use for the spare?
