Just got back from a week in Moab.

Ran Poison Spider/Golden Spike/Goldbar Rim, La Sal Loop (until impassable), Pritchett Canyon, Hells Revenge, Little Canyon, 7 Mile Rim, Steel Bender backwards, and Kane Creek Canyon.

Other than half of Steel Bender, ran everything solo sometimes with a spotter. No damage other than squashing my engine skid into the exhaust yet again which is always easy to fix with hilift.

Spent the first night in the Sawtooth National Forest on the drive down. Found some old road that just kept going up forever.

First ran Poison Spider loop. Came along a pickup being towed out that had blown its rear axle, both drive lines, then it rolled off a ledge when its steering box blew while trying to tow down Rusty Nail. Then ran into some other people from Washington whose rigs had both broken down, spent the night out with them and then brought one back into town the next day.

Then I went up to La Sal mountains, hit snow at 9000ft and it was just hopeless sugar snow. Pounded it for a while and cut out some trees then got bored and went back into town.

Next day ran Hells Revenge, tried to do Hells Gate but I fell off the line and backed out. Need to have an experienced spotter for that one.

Then did Little Canyon in the evening, I had no clue what to expect since the guide book doesn't have it listed other than being "(difficult)" on a map. It's actually not very hard, a few little ledges but nothing note worthy. It's really hard to navigate though because so few people do it, no black rock and many spur roads. Have it on a GPS.

Next day was Pritchett Canyon. What a crazy trail, many winch points were used, winch points were invented, and the hilift was used.

Next night it rained and the flat gravel road turned to a surface that drives much like snow. I guess this is "real" mud which I have never experienced. When I had to walk on it, it just built up endlessly on the bottom of my shoe until I could barely lift my foot.

Had to haul my friend's car out after getting stuck.

Then went and ran Steel Bender in reverse with the people I'd met on Poison Spider. They were in rental JK's and didn't want to do the fall-climb so I split off at that point and finished the trail.

The fall-climb and wall-drop came in the rain making them extra fun.

Next went and did an evening/night run on 7 Mile Rim

Next day was Kane Creek Canyon. This trail starts out deceptively moderate, then 12 miles in you get to some ledges required to get to the exit. My ground clearance made it extremely difficult to get on a good line and I ended up high centered on a rock while wedged between a rock and another rock where self-recover was impossible to safely perform. Another group came along which gave me a winch point saving me an afternoon of rock stacking a ramp.

Then I drove home.

Got a ton of footage, maybe I'll put together a video at some point.

Though not reccomended, some of the best trips are when you go by yourself and make your own schedule. One of my favorite trips was when the wife and I ran the rubicon solo.
