PNW Jeep did our annual club snow run over to Naches this weekend. What it lacked in deep snow, it made up for with freezing temperatures and ice. We had a great time regardless with only a few minor breaks. I didn't take as many photos as I usually do, but here is what I got.

First convoy heading up to the 70.

I didn't get any pictures of our trip over the Wagon Trail or of Friday night at the campground (probably a good thing) but this was the temperature when we woke up on Saturday morning.

As always I had a blast on this trip! Thanks for the invite and not letting me go home after the front end issues. 2wd made it that much more fun. Got to see a few people I only get to see a couple times a year and catch up. All in all I had a blast and can't wait for next years trip. I was busy driving and didn't get too many pics but here's what I've got.

In Black Diamond on the way out to meet everyone Friday night.

Ruh roh!

Did it shear the actual cross pin or just come loose from the bolt/rollpin holding it in?

It looks like the pin actually broke, if you push on the end in the pic, the other end doesn't move. Still shouldn't be too bad to fix, it beats the alternative though!

Had a fantastic weekend. Traction was epic on Friday night, the whole weekend actually with how dry and cold it was. First group Friday night spent about a half hour pulling out a bone stock brand new Jeep Patriot (open/open w/o tow points) just past the entrance to the trail. Some guy alone w/his GF stuck in a frozen puddle, they might have been there until morning had we not come along. After that is was an easy bomb up/over the trail to camp. A huge thanks to everyone who helped me out this weekend, my winch took a chit and my air compressor was DOA Sunday morning, have to lick my wounds and get some more stuff done to the rig before another outing. But that's what I love about this group, everyone helping everyone else out and the whole crew just keeps rolling forward.

Breakfast at the Gold Creek Station was epic as per usual. Huge thanks to the Club for picking up the tab.

Thanks to everyone for making this another memorable trip. Wheeling was mediocre this year but everything else was great.
I didn't get a single pic as usual.
Jesse - Thanks for the Cholula sauce, it put my breakfast over the top!
Jeff - Thanks for providing another great fireworks show, definitely the highlight of Sat eve for me.

Thanks to everyone who attended and also to those who took the time to write a trip report. It was a blast and had a great time as usual. I really value the friendships which have developed in this club.

Props to Buddy for finishing that trail in rear wheel drive only. I was right behind him and I never took my rig out of 4L :eek2: . Sorry I have no pics, my camera battery didn't live past Friday night even after being warmed up.

I dented a front driver fender in the swampy ice hole and my upper control arm bushings are trashed, again. My automatic collision avoidance system kicked in a few times on the sobering drive back to Mount Vernon. I'll be calling John about a replacement currie correct link soon.

If any of you knows someone in King County SAR, I'd like to hear the whole story about that rescue we encountered at the beginning of the wagon trail. I think the Jeep patriot stuck in the icy mud puddle would have had a long night without our help.

Indeed. Every conversation I had this weekend was fun and entertaining. I never feel like there's small talk, I truly enjoy BSing w/everyone.

I'd be curious too, and FWIW I think that was Pierce Co SAR...

(edit: I just looked at 3 FB pages connected to Pierce Co SAR and their 4x4 unit, nada mentioned...)

Sam and I were just talking about that, if they'd stayed there long enough for everything to freeze back up, they'd have been F'd. The guy was pretty appreciative, I think by the time we got him backed into that spot he better appreciated the magnitude of what might have been...

It was Pierce County SAR, not King County. They aren't as well organized as we are up north, so I am not surprised that nothing has been posted about the mission, unless of course there are criminal charges pending, then it would make sense.

I had a blast. I'm glad I was able to make it this year as I've missed the past few years due to school. I managed to stay warm in my tent Friday and enjoyed sleeping with the mice on the floor of the cabin. The shenanigans Saturday evening were a good time. I'm glad I stayed.

Thanks everyone for the fun. Best trip to the woods I've had in a long time.

Glad you stayed. Saturday night is always the best.

I had an awesome time like always. I only have a few pics I took and aren't much different then all the rest.

This was a great trip! I had a blast, and didn't break anything besides the heater switch (stuck on high).

Only took a couple of pics of Rainier, unfortunately, and they aren't as good as the ones above.

Had a blast running my rig this year. Beat on it a few times, mainly on floating ice...rocks? Definitely some interesting conditions, but it made for an eventful day on Saturday.

It was a cold morning up there Saturday, but we managed to stifle our hangovers and trudge forward. Always a great trip and my favorite way to kick off winter wheeling season. My pics are pretty similar to the rest but I'll share anyway

The slo-mo photos are forthcoming (gotta do some post-processing to preserve the slo-mo stuff), so stand-by...

The panorama shots are great, especially having come from a cell phone camera!

Being an official PNWJeep run, did anyone get the numbers of CJs, TJs, XJs, JKs or others in attendance? It would be interesting to know.
