Went up to Evan's Creek for a quick run. Was myself, Uncle Gary, and a buddy from NAXJA Matt. Admittedly it was an average day wheeling. Few issues, loose track bar bolt on Matt's rig and Gary realized his driver unit bearing was bad. He normally trailers his rig so didn't know it was bad but once he hit the road up to Evan's he said it was obvious something was wrong. Got it fixed and it was BAD - probably an 1/8" of play in it. So once all the Jeeps were fixed we set out. Ran 311 which was a breeze. The only time the whole day Matt didn't make a line was on the middle line on Brakeline Hill where his open diffs wouldn't quite let him climb the little rock ledge. Also 102 which has gotten pretty nasty in spots. Gary broke his driver rear window, Matt walked it, OPEN/OPEN, I got stuck and for fear of breaking MY rear window Matt pulled me out. Only got pics from Brakeline Hill, no pics of Gary (sorry bud).

This spot has given me a bit of trouble the last few times when trying to cut back to the left. Tried it a few times but ended up taking the easy line straight up so I didn't slide into the notorious root to the right.

On this and the last few trips it has become very apparent to me that BFG KM2's absolutely suck. Matt is a good driver with a nicely setup rig, but I think that his brand new MT/R Kevlars really helped. So if anybody wants a set of 32" KM2's make me an offer. Also, I'd be interested to hear what you guys think of KM2's in comparison to other tires out there. Do you guys think that siping the middle lugs would help? And if so, is it enough of an improvement to justify the $12 per tire that Discount charges to sipe?

Jeff

I ran the KM2's for a year and really like them until I switched over to the new MT/R. The only problem I ever had with the KM2's were the sidewalls, I popped one coming down the Lake Isabelle Trail at Reiter the weekend it was due to close (actually just over a year ago now) last june. Otherwise the KM2's did fairly well in all terrain, I think that siping would help break up the lugs and give you better traction in certain terrains.

Now I am having more Reiter withdrawals thinking about it. :(

Siping the center lugs of the KM2's will help, but it won't make 'em MT/R's.
