Planning a week long trip in the jeep left me for a need to carry more stuff than I want to fit in a tj. The solution was to build an expiditon style trailer to pull behind the tj.

Found a tent on Facebook used once for 400 and ordered a lock n roll hitch. Now working on building the tent rack to go on the trailer and adding jerry cans.

 Running trails with a trailer in tow changes everything.

I'm looking forward to some trips out through naches with it but I won't be dragging it down extreme trails. Not at least not for a while till I'm used to and comfortable towing it on the trail.

Found a free truck box on facebook to put in the trailer for some dry lockable gear storage.

Any plans on brakes? I know my trailer pushes me a little on areas like bull run and I would like to add electric brakes.

at this point it only has the parking break but seems to stop fine on the road with the oversized breaks. I haven't got it out on the trail yet so if it pushes us around to bad I will look into swapping the axle out for one with brakes if I need to but I don't want to loose the parking break option for when I set up camp not hooked to the jeep. How heavy is your trailer when its totally loaded and what kind of rig do you to it with that is getting pushed around?

I am just over 1000lbs and towing with an LJ on 33's, I only really notice it on steep down hill trails where I wish I had a little more, It will definitely be upgraded before I do anything where it gets sloppy

How wobbly is it up there w/o any trailer outriggers? Seems being over a single axle like that you'd feel movement..? Nice work!

The tent was very stable getting in and out for me my girlfriend and two smaller dogs. I was really happy with the way the tent worked out up there and the difference between sleeping in a tent like that over a tent on the ground.
