Was hoping this rain was over there as well, no such luck looking at the Whistling Jack's webcam...

If any body is planing on going over the wagon trail on Friday afternoon or early Saturday morning I would like to tag along. It's been too long since I've gone and would like to go with someone who is familiar with the trail. Let me know.

It sounds like Ryno is going over at noon on Friday. See quote below.

Also, I'm tentatively planning on coming over on the wagon trail Friday. Plan is to be in Greenwater and heading up around noon, if anyone is interested in caravanning over.

Or I'm planning on going over Saturday morning just for the day. Originally I was going to take Pyramid, but I could take the wagon trail instead.

Got an email from the forest service today about PCT. Not sure how this will effect the wagon trail.

Unfortunately, it looks like they will be closing the 19 road (Little Naches) and all lands to the west and south of said road. Norse Peak fire is not slowing down!

1900 is now closed. Pyramid Pass is closed at the top gate. Wagon Trail is Closed where it crosses the 1914.

We were the last folks through the gate this afternoon on the bikes.

Looks like my smoker is scheduled to be delivered on Thursday.

So, I plan to season it Thursday night. I'll drive down to Longmeadow Friday. Set up and start smoking meat around dinner time Friday. It would be great to locate near someone that will be running a generator so that I can power a couple of temperature control devices.

Anticipate having some Brisket and Pulled Pork late in the afternoon / early evening on Saturday.

It would be great to have an unofficial count of people so I can plan capacity. Otherwise, I will just plan for 2 brisket (~30 pounds) and 4 pork butts (~32 pounds). I'm not going to be bringing anything but meat. You're on your own for putting it on a bun or in a tortilla.

Barring any closures, Tim Magee and I will be there on Friday midday ready to run.

It's all closed. This trip is cancelled due to fires. Have confirmed with the forest service than everything at little Naches is closed. You can access the rocks from Rock Creek or the Manastash side but I'll be staying home

Hmmm. If you still want to taste test some barbecue, you might have to make a trip up towards Duvall, WA.

You probably wouldn't want to anyways, I drove 410 today and between the turn off for Naches and Crystal the sky was brown, white-out visibility was at times quarter to a half a mile, and even with the windows up my throat and eyes were seriously burning, completely intolerable with the windows down. East of the fire would be significantly worse if accessed from Manastash.
