Well looking at the calendar there are not many good time spots for when to do a run. I think the best time I see looking at things is the weekend of August 2&3.

Location: I would like to everyones input on a good location. Not necessarily the most hardcore location we can find but rather a good place that would accommodate those folks this benefit would be helping. Keep in mind Wounded Warriors will consist of some of America's finest men and woman but due to traumatic injuries we could be dealing with amputees. Places I have in mind are:
-Evans Creek
-Elbe Hills
-Tayhua

Feel free to enter other locations and ideas.

Make it a weekend type thing, run a trail or two at Evans and run up the Naches trail camp at the cabin. Second day hit the rocks, Kaner Flat or Ravens Roost, take pics head for home. That sounds fun too me, they'd get to see alot of various terrain, plenty of great views of our beautious state

I actually agree w/Jesse, Naches would offer some great destination sights. Rather than doing only passenger, they can view rigs doing there thing at Moon/Funny Rocks...

It could be, but many great accomplishments have been made in the name of the "Wang" without his direct involvement

Certainly a run I would love to attend. I could even offer a seat as long as we can get Stef's XJ ready too. Sadly the first three weekends of August are out for me. Naches is a great choice.

Soooo..... back on topic. Now that the poll has changed for the third time I wonder how accurate it is, and how many people still have to re-vote. It looks like many people like the idea I posed, that aside what do we need to do to get in contact with the people its for? We may need to get some input from them so we can tailor our plan to accommodate them better, before we set a date in stone :dunno:

We definitely need to get in touch with those it's for. I am going see about VA hospitals as well as Madigan and and a guy I know is a Sr Officer at the Wounded Warrior unit on Lewis so I will see if I can set up lunch with him. Once I get a little more info I would like to try to set up some solid dates.

Keman-The dates are not set so maybe the last weekend in July too?

I would also like to see about getting local companies to help sponsor some stuff like gift cards for a small raffle. John H I will most likely need some help from you on this as far as format goes.

I like the elbe or evans one day, camp, then get up and convoy to naches the next day idea. I think the verioty of everything along with the great road trip and views over chinook or white pass would be very memorable and fun.

Some rigs arent good for long trips. Something to keep in Mind. If I drive the 2.5 over a pass I may need to camp just to make it over.

Some of us thought of that before we built our rigs  :smt064

I have yet to hear Reiter come up. There you would have trails from easy to savage and enough of them to fill two or three days. I'm not a big fan of wheelin, driving several hours, camping, wake up, wheelin, drive all the way back home. If we stay in one spot the whole time everyone from DDs to trailered buggies will find it much easier to participate. If we set up camp at the rock garden entrance under the powerlines we would be set. Then it would be wheelin, wheelin, beer, wake up, wheelin, wheelin, lunch, wheelin wheelin, beer, wake up, wheelin, load up and go home.

This plan has another MAJOR advantage. For the majority of the time we would not have to be one BIG group. With our base camp set where many different trails converge we could assemble in smaller groups and run different trails. Milder rigs could group up and run Izzy while tube buggies show our Wounded Warriors the likes of BYS and TOD. I can take my ZJ ( three seats ) up sac-up or whatever really. The groups themselves would consist of similarly built rigs making for fun and efficient trail runs. All weekend you would have a base camp where people would be chillin. Grab some Veterans and another couple rigs and run a trail. Come back and grab a bit to eat and organize another run. Smaller groups coming and going all day. Just play in the rock garden or under the power lines and see who you link up with.

These individuals just returned from a war zone. Lets show them some good wheelin all weekend long.

Not how bad a traffic jam 30+ rigs can make Evans, then a three hour drive over the mountains to show them gravel roads and what the handful of rigs who will want to play on the weirdo rocks can do. Just my opinion.

Im with Mike on this one. I enjoy wheelin not drivin. If we go anywhere it should be for the hole weekend. If we go to Naches we should stay there camp and have a good weekend of wheelin. I'm not set on a place but Naches would be fun
