I am hoping that there will be a good turnout for this event.
With that in mind where do you think it should be held?

I am thinking Liberty would be great choice, in the field.
If we were to go to Naches at the same area as the M&G there would be the fee.

But, what do you all think?

To hold an official event in the field at Liberty you might need to have permission, that's not public land.

I think in order for you to decide where to have it you need to figure out what kind of event you are having. One day or two day? Focused on wheeling or focused on gathering/hanging out? Raffle or no raffle? Dinner/Lunch for everybody?

Liberty is great for a mild wheeling weekend. The camping is right off the highway in that grass field with no dust. It's more centrally located in the state as well.

Naches has better wheeling, and more of the users on this board know the area. The camping area is HUGE and not too far from the highway, but can be very dusty if its been dry for a long time. It's not quite as easy to get to as Liberty.

Much of this will also depend on time of year.

This will be a weekend event. It will be almost just like the M&G. Everyone show up fridaynight / Saturday morning, have a talk about what we are doing and why we are doing it. I am planning on contacting the FS and talk to them about the field if that is where we choose. I want to focus the day of Saturday on wheeling and hanging out and playing / partying Saturday night. Sunday we will have breakfast for everyone and then leave.

I would love to do a raffle. That just depends on the sponsors and donations that we get.

This will be in the summer. It can also be at Evans or Elbe I guess. Closer would probably be better? What do you think?

John and Bryan vote again please.. I redid the poll.

I didn't vote. I was waiting for you to make some more decisions before I cast my opinion.

The field we are talking about at Liberty isn't run by the FS, I believe it belongs to the mining company that operates near there.

You should also look into seeing what else might be going on at these locations over the summer to pick your weekend. When NWFest is, Jeep Jamboree, etc, etc. If those dates are undetermined right now then pick a weekend right away and reserve your space. If this ends up at Naches then you will need a permit as well.

What area do you think most of your attendees will come from? I'd almost vote for Elbe just to change things up (alot of event's happen at Naches) but if you have alot of people coming from Eastern WA, then Naches or Liberty would be easier.

Not trying to be a pain in your ass, just offering up many of the things we consider in planning the M&G

With the weather completely unpredictable in western WA, I suggest eastern WA.

There are a couple of large camping areas on the Manastash Road not far out of Ellensburg, and plenty of trails to run.

Not a bad idea either. Take us somewhere different. You can get to Funny Rocks and Moon Rocks from there too

Although the rocks are fun I think we should do trails. I like the Eastern Washington idea just because of the weather.

Bryan, you arnt being a pain you are making valid points that are helping me out a lot. I will research the dates of all the big yearly events going on and plan around those.

I think over on Manastash road would be good because you can access plenty of trail from there too.

Up at Elbe, I have never been to the camp ground. How big is it?

I don't think a poll is necessary, I think you should plan on camping on the Manastash side. Not sure exactly where Larry is talking about, but there is also Riders Camp, it's an actual FS campground. This is your event, you make the call

But if you add Manastash to the poll, that's where my vote will go

Past Riders Camp, make the first left, then a right and there is a large campground with a lot of spaces.
