Well, like forcasted from a few people I am nowhere with this.
I was hot and heavy on it for a few months and really didnt get any support
or advice from the WFTW organization. Then "life" took over. It isnt that I didnt want to do this.
This is something that wanted very bad and it just didnt happen. I talked to a member here who was helping me with
everything about something like what 4 wheel parts is doing, so I am happy to see that there is still something happening.
I think it is something that we should get as many service members and vets to since all the procedes are going to WFTW.
I am sorry that I didnt go through with this and also a little embarrased because I didnt go through with it.
I guess I bit off a little more than I could chew. Sorry.

Ian

Maybe you should concentrate your efforts on a particular VA hospital. Just a thought. I would image Seattle VA would qualify as a good candidate as any. If you can plan it, I will donate my time and rig. I just need to know when.

So what came of the run, anything?
I am a vet, and would love to help, but here an idea,
call up the local military hospitals and lets
take along some wounded warriors.
My uncle live in San Diego, owns his own boat and is always
taken the local wounded warriors deep sea fishing.

I really like this idea, so I call Fort Lewis, and got the phone numbers to the Wounded Warrior Battalion.
I was wondering if any-one and who, are up to do this I'm a Veteran. I'm not sure how many soldiers are at the Battalion,
are how many that will be able to even ride along. I'm thinking either Naches, or Evans Creek because of the views, and some time late July, or some time in August. Let me know, at, sbrhunter1@yahoo.com

I'd be in for something easy like Tahuya for sure.

And I can hold 2 passengers in relative comfort.

Would it have to be a full on event?

Couldn't we just set up a date, working with the VA and make some loops around a orv area?

What ever happens I'm in.

Alrighty then....
Lets say the weekend of August 20.

This is what we need to do. Any and all who would be able to give a ride to a vet please let me know and how many riders you can take. Lets get all the the driversl list and where you prefer to go. Then who knows maybewe'll have enough volunteers to give every-one a ride, from both VA hospitals, and the local Military hospitals.

Can I get 2 volunteers, one to call up the Lakewood VA hospital, and one to call up the
Seattle VA hospital, and find out how many Vets there would be that might be up and able to go for a nice ride.
I already got ahold of the Fort Lewis Wounded Warrior Battilion. They should have me a head count by the end of next week.
Are we up for a simple cook out, hotdogs or some-thing? If so we need volunteers.
And volunteers for any-thing else we can think of.

Let me know, what you think, what you can to do, and if you're a driver, how many can you take along and where would you like to go.
I created an email strickly for this, it's, "sbrwheeling@yahoo.com", so please email and let me know.
Don, USN.
And Lets all remember,
All gave some, and some gave all.

Tahuya ORV, Evans Creek ORV, Naches or Elbe ORV...I would be open to running.

Just a quick update....

The woulnded warrior Battalion is all up for it they have to figure out who is able to bounce around and who is not.
The ones that can't bounce around maybe we can have a Bar-B-Que, and atleast get them outside....
I will hopfully know more some-time mid week.
I will call both VA hospitals as well next week as well.If any one is an artist out there or knnows of one,
I'm thinking about having some shirt made for the Warriors.
Something like, "Wheeling with Wounded Warriors!", or, "WWW!"
Any Ideas on that would be great.

I let you all know more as I do.

Don.

Ian,
Thanks for the reply.
I guess I just read right over all the info on the 2nd page here. I am gone the 20th so I can't make it this year. If there is one next year hopefully I can. Would like to wheel with you again Ian.

Later Rick
