Picked up this 1970 Trail 70 down at the Portland Swapmeet. Plan is to add a few missing parts, clean it up, and let the kids destroy it all over again. Not sure if I will paint it or not...

Pretty decent shape. Other than the non-correct seat and cheesy kill switch, all parts appear to be original equipment. Does not look like it has been taken apart yet either.

Awesome... Those trail 70's and 90's where always alot of fun. I still have my first bike a 72 Honda xl70 that at some point is gonna get some much needed attention.

Not too much...made a parts list of what I need.

I also media blasted the cases/covers and repainted them.

I needed some parts and found a guy in Enumclaw who has an awesome collection of 50 and 70 parts. I scored a straight swing arm, some rear shocks, and the front fork assembly I needed. I am making the pile of rear shocks into 2 good ones w/straight cans.

I also made a stand out of some scrap steel and a pair of brake rotors. It bolts into the motor mounts and should work good for painting it and assembly (some day).

Finally got tired of tripping over this so I removed the decals, sanded, and primed. Guess I have to paint it now :bang:

Base color is on. DupliColor Burnt Copper Metallic Lacquer. It has a bit of flake in it which should give it a nice 70's vibe after I clear it.
