Just picked up An Axial ax10 Scorpion. (Thanks Bobby).
1. Whats the best way to clean it? I hear canned air.
2. How do i fill the shocks? what oil works best?
3.Whats the best way to adjust the load on the shocks to help eliminate Torque Twist.
My next thing is to get saddle batteries that mount to the front axle. "^^^^^^
Any pointers, tricks,& tips will be appreciated.
THANKS!
-Tim L. P.S If anyone knows the correct way to Mirror the motor( Move it to the other side) And is willing to help me do it, let me know.I will only need this done if the saddle pack batteries & shock load don't cure the TT.
4. Besides your back yard, wheres your favorite CRAWLer spots?
5. How do i find out about competitions? :smokin:

I have not delt with a shafty comp crawler, I went right to MOA.

They are fun and addictive and can get very expensive!

Have fun with it!

Most of your torque twist can be cured with better suspension setup. Moving to motor to the other side doesn't solve the problem, but conversion to 4-link with good geometry will.

For the basic stuff like shock filling, you can download the instruction manuals for the AX10 line here
http://www.axialracing.com/page.php?Id=3058

Look through them and you can find the directions for shock assembly. Just FYI, shocks aren't the easiest thing to get right, it's kind of an art to get the balance between too much air and not hydro-locking the shock. It will likely take a few tries your first time around. If you don't already have some, pick up a bottle of 30wt silicone shock oil from a hobby shop.

Cleaning depends on how dirty it is, and how clean you want it. Compressed air is a good place to start. Simple green and a toothbrush work great if you need it cleaner, and will make it look all shiney and new. If you run through water, it will attack the metal parts. Just like your Jeep, if you get deeper than the bottom of the hubs, you should be doing additional maintenance. A good place to start after getting it good and wet is blowing it off with compressed air, followed by a good hose down with WD40, just stay away from the electronics.
